PURPOSE

The Marine OCS evaluation process provides a method and basis for screening officer candidates for commissioning.

GENERAL

1. The evaluation of an officer candidate's abilities, performance, and potential is conducted in three categories:

a. Leadership
b. Academics
c. Physical Fitness

2. Eighty percent is the minimum passing grade in all areas of testing and evaluation. Minimum passing grades are considered as marginal and may be grounds for appearance before a performance evaluation board (paragraph 2006). Evaluations are rated as follows:

Favorable: 100.00 - 84.00

Marginal: 83.99 - 80.00

Unfavorable: 79.99 - 0.0
